Trump threatens to annex the Strait of Hormuz after defeating Iran

Donald Trump announced on August 14 that he intends to declare the Strait of Hormuz US territory once Iran is defeated. The US also threatened to impose economic isolation on Iran "the likes of which the world has never seen before," reportedly within the coming week.
