Scientists identify protein fuelling Alzheimer's and find a way to block it

Scientists have identified a little-known protein that may be driving the progression of Alzheimer's disease. An experimental compound blocked harmful protein clumps from forming in mouse brains, helped nerve cells survive longer, and reduced amyloid buildup. The treatment also appeared to improve heart health and slow certain signs of aging, pointing to a potentially new approach to fighting dementia.
