US expands Latin America campaign from boat strikes to land operations

The Trump administration has announced plans to expand its military campaign in Latin America — so far focused on bombing boats off Caribbean and Pacific coasts — to include land operations. The existing maritime strikes have already killed hundreds of people. The campaign targets drug smuggling and organised crime in the region.
