Petru: cutting fuel VAT benefits the wealthy more than the poor

MP Ryszard Petru criticised the return of the "Ceny Paliwa Niżej" (Lower Fuel Prices) programme on TVN24, arguing that a VAT cut on fuel disproportionately benefits wealthier drivers who consume more fuel. Petru, deputy chair of the Centrum parliamentary club, said that given current low oil prices, government support is unnecessary. He called the measure poorly targeted social policy.
