Sabalenka battles past Gibson in Cincinnati after five match points saved

World number one Aryna Sabalenka advanced to the third round of the WTA 1000 event in Cincinnati, defeating Australia's Talia Gibson 6:2, 7:6(2). Gibson, who had previously beaten Poland's Maja Chwalińska in Toronto, saved five match points before Sabalenka clinched victory in a tiebreak. Sabalenka will next play in the round of 16.
