Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's envoy, held a rare meeting with a Hamas leader to advance a Gaza peace plan. The meeting took place a week after Israel rejected Trump's peace proposal for Gaza. It is one of the few direct contacts between a US administration representative and Hamas.
