Four paintings attributed to Antonello da Messina stolen from Messina museum despite alarms
Four paintings attributed to Renaissance master Antonello da Messina were stolen from a museum in Messina, Sicily, on Saturday during the Ferragosto holiday. The artworks, worth millions of euros, were taken despite the building being equipped with security cameras and alarms. Italian authorities have launched an investigation.
