Masiuk finishes sixth at European Swimming Championships — gold decided by one hundredth of a second

Ksawery Masiuk finished sixth in the 100m backstroke final at the European Swimming Championships with a time of 52.92 seconds, his best of the season. Gold in that race was decided by just one hundredth of a second. Poland had previously won gold through Katarzyna Wasick in the 50m freestyle and bronze via Justyna Kozan.
