Brazen museum heist in Messina: six artworks stolen, two abandoned by thieves

Thieves broke into a museum in Messina, Sicily, on Saturday 15 August at 9:50 p.m., bypassed multiple security systems and made off with six priceless works of art. Two of the stolen pieces were unexpectedly abandoned by the thieves during their escape. The audacious heist has shocked Italy.
