Marie Curie on the €20 note — ECB explains the order of her surname

The public can vote on the theme for new euro banknotes until 21 September. If the cultural motif wins, Marie Skłodowska-Curie's portrait could appear on the €20 note. The European Central Bank explained the order of her surname on the banknote — "Curie-Skłodowska" rather than the Polish "Skłodowska-Curie" — with a final design decision expected at the end of the year.
