Historic church at Sanok open-air museum burns down — only cross survives
A historic wooden church at the Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok burned to the ground. Museum director Marcin Krowiak said virtually nothing from the interior survived — only a wooden cross remained intact. The cross has become a powerful symbol for locals in the Subcarpathian region, though Krowiak admitted he cannot explain how it survived the blaze.
