mBank warns of sharp food price rises in early 2027, pushing inflation above target
mBank economists forecast a sharp rise in food prices in early 2027, which they say are currently artificially low due to changing weather and economic conditions. This is expected to push CPI inflation significantly above the 3% target. The bank's base scenario assumes the Monetary Policy Council will hold interest rates unchanged until end of year, then cut them in July 2027.
