Dominican volleyball player Rayni Mondesi set a new record at the U17 Women's Volleyball World Championship for most points scored by a single player in one match. As captain, she led the Dominican Republic to a 3–2 victory over Argentina in the 9th–16th place round, scoring 45 points. The previous record has been broken.
