Mourinho drops most Real Madrid academy players — only one 19-year-old survives
Jose Mourinho has decided that only one Real Madrid academy player — 19-year-old midfielder Thiago Pitarch — will train with the first team ahead of the 2026/27 season, according to the newspaper Sport. Pitarch was the sole youth product to impress the manager and has been assigned the number 27 shirt. The rest of the club's academy graduates were left out of Mourinho's plans.
