Polish hard coal mines billions in the red as output and employment fall

Data compiled by the Instrat Foundation in its Polish mines database show that the hard coal mining sector is reporting billion-zloty losses. Both output levels and employment in the sector are falling. Experts say coal extraction is no longer economically viable.
