Record-low Danube level threatens nuclear power plant cooling in Paks
A record drop in the Danube's water level has forced the Hungarian government to intervene urgently to protect the cooling system of the Paks nuclear power plant. As a temporary fix, two 80-metre barges are to be sunk on the riverbed. A permanent dam on the riverbed is planned as a long-term solution.
