Economist: Poland can't exit ETS but must push for reform
Dr Piotr Arak, chief economist at VeloBank and lecturer at the University of Warsaw, says Poland cannot unilaterally exit the EU's Emissions Trading System — doing so would be like imposing customs borders with other EU states. He warns, however, that policies further raising the cost of living for Europeans border on economic self-destruction. Poland should use the current political window to push for more favourable terms within the system.
