ZUS forecasts average pension will fall to 24.5% of average wage by 2080

According to ZUS projections, the average pension will equal 54% of the average wage in 2027, dropping to just 24.5% by 2080. Dr Tomasz Lasocki of Warsaw University of Technology said the principle of "pay more, get more" is already effectively broken, as most Poles will likely receive only the minimum pension regardless of their contributions. The pension system risks mass poverty among future retirees.
