Polish government: 2% tax for churches would cost more than the Church Fund

Deputy Defence Minister Paweł Bejda stated that a 2% tax earmark for churches and religious organisations would cost the state budget more than the existing Church Fund. Professor Maksymilian Stanulewicz of the Adam Mickiewicz University said no party is genuinely interested in resolving the issue. The question of reforming church financing remains unresolved.
