Polish ZUS forecasts average pension will fall to just 24.5% of average wage by 2080

ZUS (Poland's Social Insurance Institution) forecasts shared with PAP show that the average pension will equal 54% of the average wage in 2027, dropping to just 24.5% by 2080. Dr Tomasz Lasocki of Warsaw University of Technology warns that the vast majority of Poles will receive only minimum pension benefits in the future. The expert concludes that the current pension system "is not working" given demographic and economic trends.
