Working retirees can boost their pension — but only if they apply themselves

Retirees who continue working in Poland are entitled to have their pension recalculated, which can result in a higher monthly payment. The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) does not do this automatically — pensioners must submit an application themselves. The option is especially valuable for those who have kept paying contributions after retirement.
