Astronomers map the Milky Way using 2 million stellar spectra

Astronomers have conducted a large-scale survey of the Milky Way, obtaining 2 million stellar spectra in a single study. This represents one of the most comprehensive spectroscopic surveys of our galaxy to date. The vast dataset will allow scientists to study the chemical composition, ages and motions of stars across the Milky Way in greater detail.
