Bronze Age elites wore rings made from meteorite iron

Scientists spent five years analysing the chemical composition of 91 iron artefacts from 33 archaeological sites in Greece, Crete and the Aegean islands. They found that some rings worn by Minoan and Mycenaean elites during the Bronze Age were made from meteoritic iron. The findings shed new light on the culture and trade networks of Aegean peoples.
