US to allies: pick a side in the AI race with China

The United States plans to send a letter to its partners demanding they choose sides in the artificial intelligence race with China. The draft is addressed to the 35 signatories of a U.S. "AI Opportunity Statement" signed in June. Washington is pressing allies to distance themselves from Chinese AI suppliers.
