France bans unsolicited telemarketing calls from Tuesday

France introduced a ban on unsolicited telemarketing calls from Tuesday. Companies may only call customers regarding an existing contract or if they have previously obtained explicit consent for marketing contact. The rules apply across all sectors of the economy.
