AI-designed bacteriophage targets antibiotic-resistant bacteria

Biotechnologists have used artificial intelligence to design a complete bacteriophage genome capable of infecting bacteria that have become resistant to other viruses. The development opens new possibilities for combating drug-resistant pathogens. Experts warn, however, that the ability to design entire genomes also creates significant biosecurity risks.
