Poland to install nearly 5 million smart electricity meters with €1bn fund

Poland's National Fund for Environmental Protection has signed contracts worth 1 billion zlotys for the purchase and installation of remote-reading electricity meters. Nearly 5 million smart meters will be deployed in households and businesses across the country. The rollout is intended to end the practice of billing based on estimated consumption.
