Ebola in DR Congo: 2,100+ deaths, one every 30 minutes in record outbreak
The Ebola outbreak in eastern DR Congo has become the second-largest on record, killing more than 2,100 people — roughly one death every 30 minutes. The virus has now spread to a sixth province. Health workers face a combination of community resistance, misinformation, unpaid-staff strikes and threats from rebel groups that are severely hampering containment efforts.
