China protests Japanese ministers' visits to Yasukuni Shrine
China's foreign ministry filed an official diplomatic protest after Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi sent offerings to Yasukuni Shrine and Japanese ministers visited it. Beijing condemned the actions as "desecrating historical justice." The shrine, which honours Japanese war dead including convicted war criminals, is a recurring flashpoint in Sino-Japanese relations.
