China protests Japanese ministers' visit to Yasukuni Shrine

China filed a formal diplomatic protest after Japanese ministers visited the Yasukuni Shrine, which honours both Japanese war dead and convicted war criminals from World War II. Beijing called the visit a distortion of history and a sign of Japan's return to remilitarisation.
