Catania Airport Closed for Eighth Day Due to Etna Eruption

Catania Airport in Sicily remains closed at least until 15:00 on Saturday, 15 August, due to ongoing volcanic activity from Mount Etna. The airport operator announced another extension of the suspension of all arrivals and departures. This marks the eighth consecutive day of disruption at one of southern Europe's major airports.
