French tax authority hacked — 678,000 taxpayer records leaked

France's tax administration has confirmed a hack exposing sensitive financial and personal data of hundreds of thousands of taxpayers and businesses — 678,000 records in total. Among the leaked data are records on 26,805 people earning over €100,000 a year. Bitcoin developer Jameson Lopp warned crypto holders, noting France already leads his global tracker of "wrench attacks" — physical assaults used to steal cryptocurrency.
