Kołodziejski clears 2.27m in Birmingham, in contention for European Championships medal

Mateusz Kołodziejski of Zawisza Bydgoszcz reached the high jump final at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham by clearing 2.27m, the height that would guarantee a medal in the final. He had jumped that mark in Monaco shortly before departing for England and confirmed his form in qualifying. Earlier in the season he had posted just 2.12m in Białystok, well below expectations.
