Kioxia and SanDisk unveil chip that could enable world's first 1 PB SSD

SanDisk and Kioxia have unveiled their 10th-generation QLC 3D flash memory chip, built using CMOS directly Bonded to Array (CBA) technology, which could enable a 1-petabyte SSD. The chip boasts a 60% increase in bit density over the 8th generation and is the first QLC 3D flash to reach a 4.8 GB/s interface speed. It is aimed primarily at data centres and AI cloud infrastructure.
