Webb telescope may have spotted a new class of cosmic object: black hole stars
Since the James Webb Space Telescope began collecting data in 2022, it has detected puzzling objects in the early universe dubbed "little red dots." A new study suggests these may be supermassive black holes sharing characteristics with stars — a previously unknown class of celestial objects. The discovery could reshape understanding of how galaxies formed and evolved.
