Poland's August rush: Karkonosze mountains 99% full, up to 150,000 visitors expected

Poles have kicked off the traditional August holiday rush, with many workers taking Friday off to bridge the 15 August public holiday falling on a Saturday. The Karkonosze Mountain Tourism Organisation estimates up to 150,000 visitors may arrive in the region. Hotel occupancy has hit 99%, making last-minute bookings nearly impossible to find.
