Baltimore sues prediction market platforms over illegal sports betting
The City of Baltimore has filed a complaint against prediction market platform Kalshi and its partners Robinhood, Webull and Coinbase, alleging violations of gambling laws and deceptive trade practices related to sports betting. The case centres on the legal boundary between regulated betting and financial instruments. It is among the first such lawsuits targeting prediction market platforms in the US.
