Sweden lowers criminal age to 14 and tightens migration rules ahead of elections
Sweden's parliament voted to lower the age of criminal imprisonment to 14 for the most serious offences, and also tightened rules making it harder for migrants to bring family members to Sweden. Both measures were passed approximately one month before scheduled parliamentary elections. The changes represent a significant shift in Swedish justice and immigration policy.
