Piotr Wichrań, a court-appointed forensic IT expert specialising in digital evidence, says that not every manipulation of a digital file can be reliably detected. Having the original device used to make a recording greatly aids in identifying tampering. Recordings of conversations may be admissible as court evidence, but their credibility depends on numerous technical factors.
