Presidential chief of staff: Berek's nomination to Constitutional Tribunal may be valid but raises doubts

Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the Presidential Chancellery, said that Maciej Berek's nomination to the Constitutional Tribunal could be valid if proper procedures are followed. He nonetheless acknowledged that putting forward a politician — until recently a minister overseeing government policy implementation — raises serious doubts. Berek's recent ministerial role has prompted questions about the independence of the Tribunal.
