Nearly 100 children wrongly detained as adults under UK-France migration deal
Nearly 100 children were wrongly identified as adults and detained under the UK-France "one in, one out" migration deal championed by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, the Guardian has reported. Of 304 age-disputed cases over nine months, 94 — or 31% — were ultimately confirmed as minors. Some children awaited deportation for over six months, despite government policy limiting unaccompanied minors' detention to 24 hours.
