VLASH AI system doubles robot speed by planning moves ahead

Scientists have developed an AI system called VLASH that eliminates the stop-and-go pauses in robots controlled by vision-language-action (VLA) models. Instead of waiting for the next set of instructions to be calculated, the robot plans ahead while completing its current task. In tests, robots finished tasks 1.5 to 2 times faster, and maximum reaction latency dropped more than tenfold — with no additional computing power required.
