WhatsApp adds on-device AI to flag scam messages with new Scam Alert feature

Meta is launching an optional Scam Alert feature on WhatsApp that uses on-device machine learning to flag suspicious messages and warn users. The feature is currently rolling out in a limited beta. Earlier this year, Meta also introduced scam detection for device-linking requests on WhatsApp.
