Wegner sets season's best to reach European Championships final, Krukowski also qualifies

Dawid Wegner, a finalist at the last World Championships in Tokyo, qualified for the javelin final at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham after a nervy qualifying round. His first two throws reached only around 79 metres, but his third effort set a season's best. Marcin Krukowski also made it through to the final, competing at an unusual time.
