Poland's "anti-quack" law awaits president's signature or veto

A Polish law aimed at curbing pseudomedical practices — dubbed "lex szarlatan" — is awaiting the president's decision on whether to sign or veto it. Supporters include doctors, scientists, the Patient Rights Ombudsman and the Health Ministry; Deputy Head of the Supreme Medical Council Klaudiusz Komor said Thursday that Poland needs the legislation. Opponents are calling on the president to veto the bill.
