UN warns sand and dust storms kill up to 7 million people a year and pose a global threat

The World Meteorological Organization is warning that increasingly frequent and severe sand and dust storms represent a growing global health and environmental threat. According to the UN, they may be responsible for up to 7 million premature deaths per year. The organization is calling for immediate action to mitigate the effects of the phenomenon.
