Falling Danube water levels force Romania to shut its only nuclear plant
Romania has been forced to fully shut down its only nuclear power plant due to exceptionally low water levels in the Danube river. The plant normally generates around a fifth of the country's electricity. Authorities had attempted to avert a total shutdown but were ultimately unable to do so.
