Etna ash shuts Catania airport — travel chaos hits Italy again
Catania airport in Sicily has been completely shut down after Mount Etna erupted and blanketed the area in volcanic ash. All inbound and outbound flights have been cancelled. The closure is adding to travel disruption already affecting Italy this summer tourist season.
