Minister Gawkowski urges all Poles to freeze their PESEL number — here's how

Following a recent cyberattack, Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski urged every person in Poland to freeze their PESEL identification number. Freezing the PESEL protects against financial fraud such as loans taken out using stolen personal data. It can be done free of charge via the mObywatel app, the gov.pl website, or in person at a local municipal office.
