Etna eruption paralyses Catania airport, stranding tourists mid-season
Catania airport authorities have extended a full suspension of flights for several days due to renewed Etna volcanic activity. The closure coincides with the peak of Italy's summer holiday season, hitting tourism hard. Many Polish travellers are among those stranded on Sicily or unable to reach the island.
